Lime Access

Bike Walk Tompkins can support you to sign up for Lime Access, Lime’s program that provides access to their bicycles for people without smartphones, bank cards, or people who live in a low income household. Lime Access users can text-to-unlock bikes, pay in cash, and receive a 95% discount on pedal bikes and 50% discount on Lime-E. Regardless of the method chosen, activation of Lime Access may take up to 2 business days.

REgistERING for Lime Access

Online

Apply online at www.li.me/community-impact, and click the “Apply Now” button. A Lime representative will get back to you within 2 business days.

In-Person

Visit our offices at 315 N Aurora St in Ithaca during business hours (Mon-Fri 12-5 PM). Please bring a photo ID and – if applicable – proof of low income status such as an EBT card.

Note: Lime Access, and bikeshare systems in general, are not suitable for group rides because one account can only check out one bike. To arrange a group ride, we suggest contacting one of our local bike rental shops.

Load MOney to Account

Credit or Debit Card + Smartphone

Use the smartphone app as normal. You will be charged for rides at the Lime Access rates, and you can load more money by tapping the person icon on the top-left, then “Wallet,” and then “Manage.”

Cash (PayNearMe) + Any Type of Phone

Go to http://lime.bike/limeaccess and follow the prompts to generate a barcode that can be scanned at the nearest PayNearMe location to you. In Ithaca, that will be the CVS on Meadow at Clinton.

Each PayNearMe barcode will allow you to load $5 cash to your Lime account. If you want to load more than $5, generate multiple barcodes by repeating the barcode-generating process.

If you need assistance with this process, visit our offices at 315 N Aurora St in Ithaca during business hours (Mon-Fri 12-5 PM).
